Hello, I'm a contractor but plumbing is not something I've ever really done. I'm building my own house and I am wondering if the waste stack can be vented 2' away from where it starts. The stack is directly under a closet door on second floor so i'd like to vent up through the back of the closet. Is this legit? Or should the waste stack be totally straight from crawler to roof penetration?

You can offset the vent.
The vent comes off the top of the trap arm and finds it's way through the roof.
Most codes say that if the horizontal is more than a 1/3 of the vertical, you bump it a size.
