My drain vent that exits up on the roof of the house slowly freezes up during the course of winter. This ends up being noticeable by flushing the toilets!
any ideas/suggestions on how to keep this pipe from icing up???? thanks...

    vents

I am not sure how it would be noticeable by flushing the toilets, because they are the only fixtures that do not really need a vent and flush better without one.
  3. small vent or cold climate????

I suppose you could go up onthe roof every so
often and throw a handful of morton salt pellets
into that vent stack..... that would break it loose

In the warmer weather, increase vent size through roof and insulate.
