The Franklin 2-wire motors do not have a capacitor.

Yes, we know, its a so called biac switch. First choice is 3 phase. Second choice is 3 wire with the capacitors 'in the air' . Last choice is the 2 wire, unless its in a tank or in a perfectly clean well. Then the 2 wire is a nice easy install. Once you have 3 phase, you wonder why every house in America does not have that choice. I suppose the copper companies would suffer, just as they oppose 240 volts in the house like Europe. Imagine starting a 5 HP motor with [3] 14 gauge wires! And no capacitors or starting switches. 120 volts - what a joke! "Give me 440 or give me death!"
