First off, great site, I search through and couldn't find the answer. I understand that when going from a 1/2 to a 3/4 on a deepwell pump the need to change out the jet assembly in the well is required. I'm replacing my frozen and cracked 1/2 hp. My question, with a shallow well pump can you up the HP without concern? This is for residential potable water with a 5 gallon pressure tank.

The jet that comes with a shallow well pump is matched to the size of motor. The only concern is that the larger pump might have a higher GPM and so may cycle more often.
