Hello all, first thank you to everyone on these boards who helped me select 4 new toilets for my new house, 1 Toto Clayton in the master and 3 Drake IIs. I love all of them. Although the Clayton has already clogged once (and the snake didn't seem to fit in the bowl...)... The main problem I'm having is the the flush lever on the Drakes. It constantly comes loose. My husband lifts the tank off and tightens the plastic bit (knob?) inside the tank where it attaches to the flush lever. He is already so tired of doing this after a few months. I read some of the earlier posts about the Drake lever problems and it seems to be common. And no, we don't use our foot to flush the toilet. My question is, can we replace the flush lever with a non-Toto one without having to manipulate somehow? My husband nor I are handy with such things. Also, I love the look of the Toto Clayton flush lever on our master toilet- white porcelain- will such a lever fit on the Drake II? Thank you!

Terry and the other guys will hopefully chime in shortly.

Toto part number: THU068

Kohler 939? http://www.showerrods-etc.com/Customrods/pc/Toilet-Trip-Lever-939-Kohler-1869p27479.htm

Kohler SW764B looks promising as it has a bolt that should prevent the handle from breaking:

The most important thing is to measure from the tank wall to the exact point where the flapper chain attaches on the original Toto lever, then make sure that it is the same distance with the new part after bending the rod in the exact same places. Don't bend the rod until you know that the part tightens correctly, though.

I like the #9141. The Kohler direct replacement part number is 968.

But since your problem is that the nut becomes loose over time I'd just wrap three layers of Teflon tape on the Drake handle threads and then snug up the nut with an adjustable wrench until it is snug + 1/8 turn.

Porcelain: https://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images;_ylt=A0SO80cgNRtUVBIA6ZNXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTByN3U3dWdwBHNlYwNzYwRjb2xvA2dxMQR2dGlkA0RGRDZfMQ--?_adv_prop=image&fr=moz35&va=porcelain toilet lever

THU141 in porcelain:

Terry will have to tell you if the THU141 is the same size as the lever in the Drake II, THU390#CP for the 1.0gpf and THU068 for the 1.28gpf.Whiich Drake II do you have?

American Standard part that may fit:
