    Hello,

Sometimes, the toilet only flushes partially on the first try, but flushes completely on the second try (every time this happens). The flapper is not leaking.

    Not sure what's going on.

    Thanks,
    Bill

Typical symptom of the bowl fill not being correct. There isn't enough water in the bowl the first time so it doesn't flush fully (or empty fully). That flush leaves behind some water, so it is now full. Then, flush it again, and all's well. Either the hose to refill the bowl is misplaced, kinked, or you don't have the OEM fill valve, or have it adjusted properly.

    Thanks Jad,

Your explanation may line up with the fact that the water in the bowl gurgles at times. Perhaps the water is being pulled out of the toilet bowl. Not sure how...............

    Thanks,
    Bill

I could add that a partial clog will slow things down, and might produce similar results...gurgles are not a good sign, except at the end of a good flush when the siphon is broken.

It gurgles when it is not being used or flushed. Just sitting and occasionally you can hear a gurgle.

    Thanks,
    Bill

It sounds like you have a drain line obstruction in the building sewer or the building drain.

I was thinking the gurgling in the toilet could be caused by the vent stack being clogged.

The gurgling in the toilet can also be caused by the drain being clogged?

    Thanks,
    Bill

A toilet making noise when it is not being used is not a toilet problem. If there's a main line clog, the pressure changes could cause air (or waste) to cause it to make noises.
