NEWARK, N.J. — Richard Sherman, the raging narcissist, was a no-show.
Richard Sherman, the self-proclaimed nerd, made an appearance instead.
And for an hour that disappointed only if you judged Sherman based solely on a 20-second postgame diatribe, the Seahawks’ gabby All-Pro cornerback turned Super Bowl XLVIII Media Day into any ol’ day in his world.

On the field, Sherman is a shutdown cornerback, complete with the ego and bravado required to handle a high-pressure job. Off the field, he’s one of the most well-rounded human beings in the NFL.

“I think I let some people down,” Sherman told the media near the end of the wildest interview of his career. “I didn’t go controversial. I don’t play to anybody else’s drum. I’m not anybody’s puppet. You’re not going to just get controversial things. I’m going to be myself every time — good, bad or indifferent — and it’s not always going to be entertaining.
“Sometimes, I’m going to be intellectual. Sometimes, I’m going to use words that people have to look up in the dictionary. I’m a pragmatist. Some people might not understand that part about me.” Richard Sherman

Richard is always good television. It's nice to see him smiling this week.

JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is the king of New York.
Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman is a clown in the Super Bowl hype machine.
Clown time is over.
Hate to break this to you, Mr. Sherman. But the Broncos are laughing at you.
"Sherman, Sherman, Sherman," said Denver defensive lineman Jeremy Mincey, stealing a movie line from "The Nutty Professor."

Here is a rather rough article from the Denver Post.
They're not afraid to say bad things about the Seahawks. I'm glad the Seahawks and the Seattle Times are showing respect for Sundays Big Game and the Denver Broncos.
You always want to play the best. This is only the eigth time in 48 years that both number one seeds have met in the Superbowl.

For the kids at Seattle’s Kimball Elementary School, Friday came with something special: free Seahawks jerseys, courtesy of an online fundraising drive by one of Kimball’s newest teachers.

There are a lot of kids at this school proudly wearing their Richard Sherman Jersey's.
I think the NFL jersey with the 25 on it rocks.
I think I need to get a "Are You Mad Bro?" shirt just for fun.

A nice article from the Washington Post
http://www.washingtonpost.com/sport...93d-11e3-a5bd-844629433ba3_story.html?hpid=z3

According to Guerrero, Sherman has a tendency to use the word “mediocre” a lot, and when he does he is generally shouting down all the forces that can conspire against a ambitious young athlete, ruin his will, defeat his attempt at self-fashioning. Sherman’s foundation provides decent clothing, gear, textbooks, etc., to kids from poor urban schools, aiming to bolster their self-confidence and give them vision.

More love for Pete Carroll

http://mmqb.si.com/2014/01/31/super-bowl-48-richard-sherman-pete-carroll/

[h=1]A Love Letter to Coach Carroll[/h][h=2]He saw it in me before anyone else—the ability to be a shutdown corner—when I was still in high school. But even though I didn't wind up playing for Pete Carroll at USC, I'm sure glad I am now. If you're looking for reasons the Seahawks are in the Super Bowl, start with him[/h]

I heard rumors that Peyton Manning is in on phony NFL merchandising. If so, then he has lost my respect & I will be routing for the Seahawks.
