Have a symmons tri handle shower that will not take repairs due to striped mixer valve.

I'd prefer to get a different manufacturers unit when repairing this. Also economy is first consideration any suggestions? grateful for your help!

You CANNOT use a "different manufacturer to repair this". Either you use Symmons parts to repair it or you replace the entire unit. And if you replace it "economy" will not be an issue.

Thanks sure a different manufacturer at the rough in, where the inlets go to the valve.
I was looking to see an affordable non symmons option. A more generic less expensive shower unit. Paying 92 for a mixer does not "float the soap" in this guys bath tub. So I am again looking for other units that will be applicable.\ Thanks

Some of any valve's cost is style, some is build quality. If you cannot access the valve from the rear, there are all sorts of remodel plates that can cover the bigger hole required to access the pipes and install a new valve.

quote; there are all sorts of remodel plates that can cover the bigger hole required to access the pipes and install a new valve.

But in most cases the Symmons valve, with its internal stops and checks and female inlets, will be wider than any "remodel plate" will cover.
