"Compact elongated" or "Jumbo shrimp" are the same thing. They are what someone calls them, NOT necessarily what they are. The definition of an elongated toilet is that it is LONGER than a round front bowl, usually by 2". If the elongated bowl were 2" shorter than other elongated, then it would be a ROUND FRONT toilet again. Most round bowls are 25" from front to back and elongated are 27", but that means VERY LITTLE when it comes time to install them. To get the real dimension you have to take the distance from the center of the bolt to the front of the toilet, plus the distance from the center of the pipe in the floor to the wall. THAT will tell you how far the toilet will stick into the room, which is NOT the same as the actual size of the toilet. You may be lucky that the repair was so bad, because at least it gives you an excuse to redo the entire shower. I have seen very few pan only repairs that resulted in a shower that did not eventually develop a leak where the new and old tiles met.
