I plan on enlarging the sump pit (currently a 12" x 20" hole in the floor) in my basement and install a plastic pit liner. Outside of holes for the foundation drains, do I need to drill any additional small holes into the liner (say, at the bottom to let any excess water absorb into the dirt) prior to installation?

Generally the answer is yes. Some additional small holes towards the bottom half have a slight impact to lowering the water table, but also serve to help keep the croc/liner in place by relieving hydrostatic pressure.

Thanks for your reply. I will definitely drill extra holes prior to installing.
