Steam radiator valve question

will partially closing the valve lower the heat? I already have the smallest vent on it as it is close to the boiler.

A (more expensive) thermostatic air vent should be able to turn the thing to " off " (pretty much, more or less). Some come with wall-thermostat type controls, which is one way to sort-of micro-zone a steam system.

Dana is right. But, take care. It is not always as easy as it looks.
