I had to replace my pump (sta-rite vertical deep well 1hp) with the exact same model. It holds a prime, and if you kick it on, it pumps water at a good rate but it will not build pressure and kick off the pump. Any ideas of what to try?

2 inch ID casing, or is it larger? If 3 inches or larger, you may have the option of replacing the jet pump with a submersible pump. Advantages include no priming.

The jet that you want to clean out is down the hole on a deep well jet pump.

Funny thing, we were going to change the impellers but decided to try it one more time and it worked perfectly...we are thinking it may have been an air pocket or something that worked it's way out overnight.
