Spout adapter stuck!

help! Trying to replace my tub spout and the adaptor for the old one is stuck. I've tried just pulling it and dousing it in clr. Any advise?

You sure that there's not a setscrew on the bottom holding things in place?

We Were able to wrentch it out. No there wasnt a screw...it Was just stubborn.

There are basically two types: threaded on, and push on. Those that push on usually have a setscrew to prevent it from rotating. If the pipe stub is all scratched up, that may limit what you can put back on there - one that relies on just an o-ring to make the seal probably won't work if it's all scratched up. You may need to use one that uses a threaded adapter that you solder on or replace the pipe.
