shower water not hot enough now

the last couple of weeks we have had to turn the shower control to hotter than we would usually do.
to get the same temperature of water.
gas water heater is 10 years old.
what could cause this problem?

Has the outside temperature been a lot colder than it has been? It can take awhile for the ground to follow the outside temperatures, but if it is particularly colder than it has been, you need more hot, or less cold to maintain the same temperature after things are mixed. If you measure the actual temperature of the WH, that will tell you something.
