I have a Delta Monitor 1700 series shower which was installed in 2006. It suddenly stopped working mid-shower. I replaced the cartridge, seats and springs. The shower now sounds like its going to turn on and a small amount of water will come out of the top outlet (I removed the shower head to rule that out) but then nothing, as if its losing pressure.
When I initially removed the cartridge to make sure I was buying the correct replacement, I replaced it without the seats and springs and then I lost hot water everywhere in the house. Now that the new one is in and seems to be correctly installed (I was careful to follow all instructions and tried the install several times ensuring that the seats, springs and quad rings remained in place) the hot water is fine everywhere in the house. I am missing one seemingly minor part - the O-ring noted on the schematic, but it was never installed initially and just goes between the brass ring and the decorative outer sleeve (http://dl.owneriq.net/7/7b304250-cb1b-46d3-a2dd-5e9f84493bb2.pdf - part RP23336)
Water comes out of the inlets at good pressure when it is wide open (no cartridge attached).
Any thoughts before I call a plumber? I don't feel like I am completely clueless but I seem to be out of options in terms of what I can do myself. Thanks!
