Can someone recommend rough in shower and tub valves that have separate hot and cold controls? Do they make just single valves, one for hot and one for cold? Having trouble find these.

New valves are supposed to provide anti-scald technology, so without using a stand-alone safety device in addition to an old-style valve, won't meet the requirements, and that complicates the plumbing a moderate amount, not counting the cost of the devices themselves.

If you want more control over the temperature and volume, most manufacturers offer a separate temp control, and volume control that would do what you want. On many, that temp control could be upgraded to be thermostatically controlled (which I prefer), so that the temperature remains the same, regardless of the incoming supply water temp until there's not enough hot left - automatically adjusting as your WH tank gets depleted, or the winter/summer cold temps change.
