1. What is the red glow in my gas Weil McLean pcg-4 boiler?
1b . My best guess is the red glow is insulation that has heated up and glowing red?
3. Does this insulation have Asbestos?
3b is it safe to breathe near this boiler ?

4 . What caused these scorch marks ?

( There is a mark on both sides of the boiler but the mark on right side is bigger)

4b is it safe to use this boiler with scorch marks ?( Boiler does not appear to be leaking)

Is the glow not the heat exchanger being heated red hot?

What is that giant crack?

The scorch could be flame rollout

No. It's not the heat exchanger.
To me it looks like insulation all the way on the back cover

I did more research. It definitely is insulation that is glowing red.
1. Is this safe?
2. Does this insulation have any asbestos in it?

I am sure the red glow is insulation.

1. Is the red glow normal inside the boiler?

2. Should I worry about asbestos that is being burnt in the insulation?

3. Does anyone know what caused the scorch marks and cracks on the outer left and right side cover?

Thanks in advance for studying my videos and pictures that I have uploaded.

Any advice if I should replace the boiler or keep it ?

Is that an aftermarket burner? It looks very close to the ends of the case.

It looks like there is a bole in the insulation in the back.that could be bad

I would have a pro examine it. A replacement may be a good consideration.
