Update: Nevermind. Somehow it stopped draining again. I'll chalk this up to user error.
Apologize if this was answered already - my situation is unique.
Today, after I changed my membrane filter, the RO keeps on producing wastewater for hours. The tank is heavy and full. I changed my membrane filter once before and the same thing happened. I don't remember what I did to fix it. Here are the few things I did to diagnose it.
Setup: feed is approximately 65 psi as controlled by a regulator right at input to the RO system.
1. Shut off the tank valve -- the draining stops.
2. Turn the tank valve back on -- it does not start draining again.
3. Turn on the faucet -- the draining starts again.
4. Turn off the faucet -- the draining continues and doesn't seem to stop.
What might be going on? Since the system stops when I turned the tank valve off, the ASV and check valve should be ok.
Thank you!
