Is it possible to revert a pressure assist toilet to a gravity fed one? Does the design of the pressure assist toilet conflict with the capabilities of a gravity fed tank assembly?

Presuming you are asking if this would be at all practical, the answer is no. Design is different.

Possible? Doesn't really matter. You don't actually want to put a lot of money into that, so it might as well be impossible.

IMHO, pressure assist toilets are/were a gimmick some manufacturers used to make their poorly designed toilets work with the low flow mandates when there were first required. The many have helped, but better designs made them a poor second choice. Toto never made one. rather they worked on making their products work right without the explosive pressure assists. That said, get rid of the PA and get a good gravity toilet that will work right without extra pressure, without the need to plunge, and without costly flush valves. Millions of us are using Toto toilets without problems and without expensive repair parts.

The answer to the OP's question is no. If you were to remove the Flushmate and install a regular fill valve and flush valve in the tank, what would happen when you pulled on the flush lever is zero. Nada. Nothing. The water would basically just sit there. We actually had someone on here (I think on here...) try it once and then post to ask why it didn't work. Different bowl design is why. If you put a Flushmate in a regular tank and try it on a gravity bowl, it will spray out of the bowl and all over the room. Different design.
