We shut the database down Friday at 4:00 PM

The server has been changed, it took longer then expected, and some recent postings may have been lost.

It should be good for another 365 days now.
Sorry about the glitch while moving to the new server.

We're running an Intel Core2 Quad Q9550 at 2.83GHz with 2 gig ram

I got a few emails and a phone call this morning.
    Thanks guys.

Macplumb 777 called me from Houston while I was talking to Tech Support.

I can't believe how much faster things are now then the old servers years ago.
Sometimes it would take over 10 seconds for a simple search.
I got kicked off of two providers because of the traffic this site gets.
With one, I couldn't even talk them into letting me stay.

I was going to email you when I saw the database connection was bad, but I figured at the point you already had 10 million emails ;-)

I was missing the forum as well.

I bet this site is way faster now

What was the old server config btw?

    Xeon quad 2.13 Ghz

The one before that was a dual core

And before that a single chip celeron.
