Placing tub in 3 wall alcove

TedL, the first time I checked for studs I did not find any. I'm gonna check again with the electronic studfinder.
It gets weirder, I said before that there are 2 sheets of OSB, but i found out there is only twos sheets at the top half. I accidentally made a hole in the bottom half and found that it is a single layer of OSB, then a vapor barrier and pink insulation. I can stick a screwdriver in the hole several inches. A friend speculated that someone added a sheet of OSB as a spacer for a narrower tub. In any event I will investigate further.

Is the OSB part of an exterior wall?

You've got to make sure you have the framing needed for tub attachment before you set the tub in place. Now's the time to explore.

Unless that's a former window/doorway with a proper header, you could also have major unmet structural needs. Here's hoping that it's on the gable end if it's an exterior wall.
