I asked a local plumber, here in California, about using PEX (yea, I know it's not approved for use here. Politics.). He said the problem with PEX is thirsty rodents (he said rats) gnaw through it to get to the water causing leaks. Copper seems to have corrosion problems here. Many houses around here have had leaks under/in the slab, including me. I'm beginning to think I need to plumb with Glass Lined Stainless Steel. Anyone else experienced rodent problems with PEX?

Never heard of any rats chewing through PEX for a drink. You'd be surprised what they can chew through though....including copper tubing if they took a notion.
