Disposal side drains all day long, other side doesn't. The flex tube has a bit of a leak so I'm replacing that anyway, but what am I missing? All the pipes are clean on the inside.

Clog in the bellows.

You need to add an AAV and P trap to replace your S trap. This is frequently discussed.

No clog in the bellows, if by bellows you mean the flexible pipe under the left side.

Is there a diagram somewhere that would illustrate what a AAV + P trap installation would look like under there. Would that still attach to the pipe going down through the cabinet?

The AAV is above the santee on the right.
A baffle tee picks up one sink and the disposer.
The air gap drains down to the disposer.

So apparently when feeding large loads to the disposal the bellows was backing up a bit, causing some of the drainage issues that were occurring.

Does this pass muster among the more learned than I?

Is an AAV required if the house is otherwise vented and the sink drains properly?

Thanks all.

Yes. The purpose of the AAV is to prevent the trap from siphoning and thereby allowing sewer gases to come in.

The AAV does not help draining.

Traps can siphon dry, and then there is no seal. They drain too well without proper venting to prevent that.
Way better than before though.

Thanks all. Would replacing the 90 in the back with a T connection and putting a AAV on top of that do the trick?

You really don't want that flexible connection in there. Because it is above the p-trap, any debris that gets caught in there, and it will, can then just start to rot and smell.
