I just bought a house and had to replace the paneling in the basement with sheet rock. I moved no studs and made no openings.
We are about to have a framing inspection.
The basement had a plastic folding door over the 30" opening for the boiler and the hot water heater opening is 24" with a plastic folding door.
Am I better off putting the plastic doors back up for the framing inspection or leaving them off?

My other question is whether there is any rule about the gas meter? It was boxed out and we still have the box with the door. Am I better off having that up or not up? IMG_0685[1].jpgIMG_0684[1].jpgIMG_0683[1].jpg

Anyone have any thoughts? I'm not trying to circumvent the code, just don't want to do more work than I have to.

In my city, they can be exposed. You can contact your city building dept or your utility providers for up to date answers. But in a finished basement you may want the out of sight.
