new well in Tomball TX

Just need some advice.

I have 2 quotes in the $6k range, what should i be looking for?

House is 5,000 sq 2 story with about an acre of land
already have installled speinkler sytem so what will give me a good flow with good pressure

You will need to know how much water the sprinkler system will use.
Do you know how many zones?, and how much water each zone uses.

That information is something the driller or pump installer will need to size the pump correctly.

On most home sprinkler systems, a 18gpm, 1.5 hp submersible pump with a 220gal none bladder tank will work great.

Your quote sounds kinda cheap.
How deep are the wells were you are, and what stuff comes with that quote?,,ie:: pump, tank, casing, (drop pipe(steal or pvc)?

well is 220 feet deep

2hp pump

sprinklers we have 18 zones

think pvc piping

not sure of tank size

we are in tomball texas

Why a 2hp?
Your well is not that deep. A 2hp is for a deeper well with a lower water level.
A 1.5 should deliver plenty of water at a cheaper price and, at a low cost of electricity.
A 1.5hp can deliver around 30gpm, or are you needing more water than that?

I just cant see any reason for that size pump.
Or am I missing something?

18 zones on a about an acre of land!?

With that many zones on a small lot, each zone should not use all that much water.
I have no idea how big or what kind of spray heads you are using, it just doesn't make sense to me.

I think they are talking about a shallow well jet pump. . . waterwelldude is probably thinking submersible pump so $6K probably isn't out of reason in that area. I suspect a high water table.
