New water heater working but lukewarm water coming out.

Just bought a new hot water tank and the pipe to the house is hot with pilot light on but only getting above average hot water in the sinks and showers. The tank filled up just fine with no leaks so wondering why the hot water isn’t getting from the tank to our lines in the house?
