start by resetting your plug and filling only your nobleflex up 1/2 way , leta verify that connection first.

do set a secondary evaporation test this time.

troubleshoot by elimination.

then after a day or so....we will fill it up just over the threshold and set a cappilary to stop wicking.

I have a hard time with bike punps. i use a compressor and check pressure a few times.

Good idea.

Filled up divot section with water, placed some coins. Hope these pictures are clear.

Pumped the plug to 40#, hope nothing changes in the next day or so.

There ya go...

it doesnt hurt to set a second stack of coins as a backup ( maybe do this when you full it up)

. i like to have 2 refrence points and an evaporation test.

coins can slide and move .. i have been using stainless steel squares for accuracy!

there is a lot of ways to get a misread , dogs /cats drinking water, somebody drops something and stirs the water, test plug setting/inflatiion, etc etc. you can imagine....

lets see what happens..

heres the square option

good luck....

Flood test. Started 02/20/15. Was able to get the plug deeper int the drain.

Since the water level is low, it was hard to use the square. Ended up using it to hold up quarter and nickle.

Bolt on top of dime is in a separate container.

Flood test 24 hours later.

Seems to have the same rate of evaporation. Quarter and nickle dropped the same as bolt in container.

What do you guys think?

Joe my friend youve sprung a leak or your coins are moving.....most likely you are losing water.

the picture of the quarter is unacceptable. IMO id be worried and try again.

thats a large drop , as well i cannot verify your evaporation container pics

did you clean your drain flange well and use noble sealant on that connection and then snug down clamp ring?

youve either punctured your flex flash membrane, made a poor drain flange connection , or your test plug is not functioning.

if your plug is down below the drain riser to 2" weld connection you could also be leaking there, is your 2" riser pipe new and clean? perhaps something is stopping test plug from expanding properly ??old cruddy pipe?

drain it and drop your plug as deep as you can and fill up only the drain just below your noble flex flashing connection & see if you lose water from below there.

after that i would use an oatey rubber tension plug at top of drain and retest again the flex flashing.

you need to keep troubleshooting ..........

if you were dilligent with your methods of installation, and didnt puncture your flashing and ts and followed directions from noble you can hold on to hope that its a drain leak... which would be horrible and require tearing it out .

leaks or a puncture in your TS can be patched. a bad drain connecion not so simple....

keep trying...... no it is not easy, you have tackled a difficult DIY build.

I have not followed all of this build but is there NobleSealant 150 under the Noble and over the lower portion of the clamping drain?

I tried one of those but it wouldn't fit pass the clamping part. Guess I should have remove the clamp, install the plug, re-install the clamp tight then flood.

I'll try that today and let you know how it goes.

That looks better. The twist-n-set plug you used there still test the connection of the 2" waste pipe top the drain and the drain to the waterproofing.

24 hours have passed. Hooray. Water level still the same as pictures above. No change.

Seems the nobleflex drain is holding water.

Going flood the shower up to the drop down threshold. Wait 48 to 72 hours see that that goes.

Will keep you posted.

Just checked it. Water level still the same. I feel much better now. Going to empty the shower and let it dry. I know its holding water, do you think I should still use preformed inside corner the lap fold?

Planning to finish the rest of it tomorrow. Need to adhere the dry side. Didn't complete it the first time just in case I screwed up the shower pan.

Hopefully, I'll have a chance to install Wall Seal this weekend.

I've got other questions. Should I post a new thread or continue with this thread?

OK Joe.... nice work.

you want your wall seal to lap corners and seams by2"

look at your current cut/lapped fold corners.

now consider making your new 2" lap corners work in favor of minimal buildup by going oppisite direction.

make sense?

you need NO MORE inside corners.

move fwd with care And focus , be methotical and use noble sealant at seams.
