Anyone have experience with this model? Company? Bought a house that had a water softener already installed. Can't find any relevant information. No manuals, endless searching. Very frustrated. I need to change the settings. Please help.

Thank you for the response, hope this will help my search. From what I gathered, it most closely resembles a Fleck 6600. But not quite. I don't know if that helps or hinders anything.

Does not look like Fleck 6600 to me based on pictures. You might remove any cover that is easily removable, and post a picture of the back and/or side. Somebody with experience might recognize something.

Well water? If you don't have lab water test results, I would get a test. I like kit 90. http://www.karlabs.com/watertestkit/

If the current unit is not up to the job, but it is doing pretty well, maybe poke Extra Cycle every 7 days or more often. It could be that new resin could fix things, or it could be that you would be better thinking of a replacement unit. Compare the tank size to the size you should have based on your water.

I think I just need to set it to regenerate sooner. Sometimes it's fine, then other times there's calcium deposits on everything.

You should get a Hach 5-B softness test to see how the hardness does.

Note that a white deposit that easily washes off is going to be salt rather than calcium.

There is a program button. What happens if you poke that for 1/2 second? What if you hold that button in for 6 seconds?

This is what the bottom of my dish rack looks like. If this helps determine the problem.

If well water, what are the results of your lab water analysis? Municipal water testing results are often posted online by the water provider.

Could possibly be silica which a softener will not remove.
