I'm scheduled to have shoulder surgery in two weeks. A friend who has been through this suggested installing a hand held shower head, which seem like a good idea. Which brands/models are better and which are to be avoided? Would prefer an easy installation type that could be installed by removing the existing shower head and attaching. Would be replacing a standard shower head.

Just need a basic unit, nothing fancy, one that could be hung up and used as a regular shower head later. But I don't want something that will fall apart in a few months. Thanks for the advice.

My mother has a Delta unit that has been working well. I have a Grohe unit that is now about 10-years old and still going strong.
