We had a Navien condensing water heater NPE-180A installed about two months ago. For the last few weeks, when the hot water is running, the heater hums/vibrates/plays a fluted musical note at the same pitch as the D above middle C on the piano. It doesn't start singing until about 30 seconds after the hot water has started coming through the faucet or shower, and it generally takes about 45 seconds for the hot water to start coming through the faucets. The noise is loud enough you can hear it throughout the house, even if you're the one in the shower. We've decided it must be coming from inside the heater, as shoving pillows/towels around/between pipes doesn't stop the sound. Anyone have any idea what's causing this? The heater is installed in the basement, against a cement exterior wall, and we're in South Dakota.
