Happy Friday Everyone.

Today our contractor installed Kerdi shower pan, Kerdi membrane corners and Kerdi linear drain as well strips of kerdi flex. Unfortunately they used modified thin-set mortar "laticrete 254" (not rapid). Which Schluter specifically told me not to use as modified would take many days to dry under the Kerdi membrane. Schluter based it on the fact that Kerdi membrane is a vapor barrier and will NOT provide adequate air for drying modified thin-set. I was told that only modified thin-set mortar would work.

Can anyone clarify if this portion of the job can be salvaged or all Kerdi components have to be removed and reapplied with unmodified thinset. Contractor actually bought and had Ditra-Set unmodified mortar on site, but confused which one to use under Kerdi flex.

So far plan was to install tile Monday, so now I am not sure.

Any help greatly appreciated
