I suggest replacing parts E,F,G,H and I with PVC to see if it makes any difference.
Now this is really weird thinking but you have a weird problem. Don't ask me to justify it. I also suggest that you get a voltage sensor and hold it next to the galvanized nipple to see if you have an electrical current on it. Voltage sensor cost $12-15 and easy to do.
