In the last couple of months, whenever we turn on the water in our upstairs bathroom everything runs fine, but then there is a loud "CLUNK" after about 10 seconds, the water spits and then it runs normally again. Could this be something as simple as air in the pipes, or are we looking at serious plumbing problems? The house is only 10 years old!

Do you have a pressure reducing valve on your system? Are you on city water or a well system?
