LIXIL to acquire GROHE Group

The combined sanitary businesses of both groups generate more than EUR 4 billion of annual revenue, making it the largest player in its industry.

They also bought American Standard.

Japanese-based LIXIL Corp. has formed a 50-50 joint venture with the state-backed Development Bank of Japan to buy 87.5% of GROHE Group from TPG and DLJ Merchant Banking Partners.

Yeah, this has been expected since like September of last year. http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2013/09...e-for-4-1-billion/?_php=true&_type=blogs&_r=0

As I know Terry knows, these guys own INAX, which is about Toto's size in Japan. LIXIL's CEO came from GE, so he is importing a lot of GE's strategies and structures. He says he's done with acquisitions for a while now.

When they bought American Standard in the middle of 2013, I was amused by the following quotation they attributed to AS's president, Jay Gould: "We and our customers will surely benefit by combining LIXIL’s quality control, manufacturing technology and product development with American Standard’s sales networks..." Quality control was the first item he listed. A confession? We'll see how they remake AS.
