Hi,

Last night I discovered that the Watts 1156F boiler pressure reducing valve is leaking quite a bit, so I have a few questions :
  1. Is this something that can be taken apart and cleaned or fixed?
  2. If it needs replacement, can I just replace the 'guts'? I see 4 screws that would remove the working parts without having to undo base and the piping.
  3. Also the 9D-M3 backflow preventer right above this valve is covered in blue/green corrosion. I know I have acidic water, but there's no (visible) leak there so why the corrosion? Should this be replaced as well?
  4. Same goes for the air vent over the expansion tank and scoop. It has leaked making a mess of the tank. I've replaced it before - why do these things go bad so quick? Does any company make one that will NOT leak within a few yrs?
I installed this entire system myself 13 yrs ago, so I can do the work. But money is tight so I'd rather not replace anything that can be 'fixed' if it'll last a few more yrs.

Thanks!
