Keep it low. Laundry tub ties in pretty low. Your start will have to be like 6 inches off floor. That will give you 10 inches after the 16 feet

He sounds like he may be considering running the sink to a floor drain. In that case, I think he would be required to leave an air gap above the floor drain. If he does that, should he have a trap at all?
