Had my board go out for the second time. Last time i ordered a new one for $98.00. Tonight i took the board out and all you have to do is clean the rust off that gets on the inside of the metal cover where the contacts are made to the green board and it fixes the problem. Saved $98.00.
Hope this helps someone save a few bucks.
It must be the salt that causes the metal cover to rust over time and it creeps under the contacts so the board stops working.

I just did what you said.
I opened the control panel. I checked the board. A lot of rust!!
I cleaned the terminals....and SAVED $ 98.00!!!.. the softener is now working..
