I just installed a Rainfresh iron filter system http://www.rainfresh.ca/iron_filters.php

It's working great. I am wondering if it would help to have it regen daily instead of every 3 days? Will that do any damage? Does every regen reduce the life of the birm media?

I ask because I read about iron bacteria possibly causing the birm media to solidify due to the air in the tank causing a breeding ground for the bacteria to grow.

I have been selling BIRM systems for about 6 years and set them to backwash every night with no problems. It will use more water but will ensure the media stays clean.
