I am remodeling bathroom and installing Sterling shower. Had tub only RH drain and replacing with shower only center drain. Cut concrete and have run drain with p trap. I am installing Oatey brass drain on pvc and I was wondering if the rubber seal in drain is sufficient or is there another step in the process? Basically I am not sure how to install or connect brass drain to pvc. Any help is appreciated.

The Oatey brass shower drain with rubber seal works fine as is.
We use Silicone to install the drain to the pan, and then use the flat bar tool to tight the spin down keeper for the rubber seal to pipe connection.
It's a good idea to put a rag in the pipe first in case the flat bar tool drop in the drain.
