I just put in a new shower arm in order to put in a new shower head. However, I noticed that after putting it on, there is a very small leak where the shower arm connects to the pipe behind the wall. The water drips down about 1 drop every minute. Is this normal or OK? Or do I need to take it out and do it over?

I only wrapped one layer of teflon tape and I hand-tightened til I couldn't go any further then I took a pair of pliers and gave it an extra half turn (as the instructions on the packaging said to do)

I also read on another forum that I might need to get rid of some of the old shower arm which might have left bits of itself in the threads of the pipe behind the wall which might also be causing this problem.

Thanks a lot! Any help is greatly appreciated!

One layer of teflon tape isn't enough...take it out, put like three wraps on it and try again.
