I have a well that may not be adiquate at normal pressure. Is 20 psi enough? How about 30 psi?

I'm not a pump guy (tha't my excuse & I'm sticking to it - If I misunderstand don't kill me) but I think I get your point, which is that storing is significantly more expensive. We do have a dozen (maybe 2) power outages a year so I may store some, but that situation is probably better served by a hand pump.

No I think Reach is trying to say it cost less to store in a pressure tank, which it does. But 1440 watts is 1.44 KW and even at 30 cents a KW that would only be about 42 cents to pump 1000 gallons, not 20 bucks. And I would also guess at 3 GPM the pump would only use about 800 watts.

A hand pump and/or a few 5 gallon jugs in the closet are the best way to have water during a power outage.
