I'm preparing for my rough inspection as part of a master bath remodel. The inspector wants to see a water test on the new shower drain line. The drain line will be sealed with a test ball where it drops into the main line, so everything above that point will be under pressure. This includes two (old work) trap arms for a dual-sink vanity.

What is the best way to seal these trap arms for the pressure test? I was planning to install the p-trap and use an ABS tailpiece with a solvent welded cap. I'm a little nervous that the threaded fittings in the trap will leak. Is there a better method for sealing a trap arm?
