I am trying to get my pump to cycle less and I think part of the problem is that the pump has a built in vertical float switch that limits the range I can set. The float switch uses a seperate cord so I tried using a teathered float but the sump diameter is too small to give me the range I need. Can anyone recomend a switch that I can use in a tight sump with a significant range ? It's a concrete pit that is 15" in diameter and 30" deep. The bottom of the inlet pipe is 12" from the pits bottom. I think a old style pump with the motor out of the water could be adjusted to work just right but from what I hear the submersable pump is more reliable.
