How to...Do I need to relocate the exit waste or ???

1st timer on this site, I would appreciate any insight.


As you can see from the pictures. I will need to cut quite a bit off with the current exit waste, which makes me cringe. The is a clean out plug which looks like it may have been used at a exit drain previously. It's much too low for a p trap. One though is maybe to cut the 1 1/2" reducer but I don't know if that would seal, another thought is to see if there is a shorter collar on a different sink strainer or do I just relocate the waste ?

EDIT: Those are my wife girly hands.. not mine : )

And yes the breaker is off and those lines are not hot. I will need to address that as well.

Those are pretty deep baskets. I would change the basket on the right, and then you should be able to cut some of that pipe shorter and make it work.
They also make reversible P-Traps. Dearborn makes a nice one.

I just noticed you recommended a reversible P-Trap in another posts , I may go with that route. I had no idea they made such a thing. Thanks!
