So this is a piece of my well pipe that I need to cut out to install a CSV valve. I assume the entire length of the pipe looks like this:

This pipe is from the well head, underground and into my basement; it is about 15-20' long.

We do have iron and Hydrogen Sulfide issues, but this pipe has been there for 30+ years, so not too bad.

How can I clean this? Could I dump a ton of iron out into my well and hope for the best? :)

Thanks,
Justin

Wow! You would be better off if you could replace it with PVC. I don't know about iron out, but acid would do it. It is just hard to do an acid job without it eating on everything else as well.

I was wondering about that, right now it is poly pipe, which is a plastic, right? I am not sure the surface matters that much. Its not "stuck" on there, you can move it around with your finger.

Remember that there will be water and debris coming back at you.

I wonder how full the casing is. There are people who clean wells too.
