greetings i'm building a rather long raised bed for the garden and to keep the sides from bowing out i bought a length of 1/2" galvanized steel pipe (threaded on the ends ) and the corresponding 1/2" gal floor flanges to screw on either end.

unfortunately when i try and screw on the floor flanges they will not go on more than a thread turn maybe two...

what gives?!

i need this to screw on tighter so as to hold the sides together

thanks for any clarity.

Chinese made? I don't expect you will get too many threads engaged if your just tightening by hand. Are you tightening with (pipe) wrenches?
Go to Lowes or HD and try a different brand.
Good luck.

The pipe will only fit one side of the flange. If the pipe won't fit either side, there is a problem with the threads on either the pipe or the flange.
