Has anyone attempted to replace existing poly-b from a dry walled ceiling space (I hate the thought of trying to re-texture if I have to cut out drywall) by attaching a run of pex to end of polybutylene and pulling through (yes I'm sure there are clamps) the ceiling cavity? The polybutylene is 19 years old and has not started leaking but I think I may be on borrowed time. Any thoughts?

Being PB, it may not be clamped. It's worth a try pulling it through.
If the ceiling leaks though, you're doing drywall repair anyway.

If it is the small PB tubing to a manifold, they were not part of the class action suit and do not seem to be prone to failure.
