Hey everyone,
Hope someone can assist me, I've been fight with this for the past weeks.
I recently changed the PRV on my boiler.
I've notice when ever I fill the boiler via the PRV which is set at 12 psi, the T&P reads 20 psi.
I've install a pressure gauge after the PRV, which reads 14 psi once the boiler is filled.
These pressures are based on when the boiler is cold. Note the 2 psi difference.
I've install a new bladder expansion tank, the pressure in the tank is 14 psi.
My home is a two family will two circuits.
When the boiler is running, the pressure will raise above 30 psi, which sets off the pop safety.
My aquastat is set at 160-180.
My expansion tank is amtro 60.
I'm hoping someone can help me on this please.
Just thought I would mention this, over the summer I removed the radiators in my attic and tied the lines together with a balancing valve and an air vent.
I've regulated the balancing valve from fully open to 1/4 open to check whether this was causing the pressure to build in the boiler- should I close the valve completely and install air vents on both lines?
