I have a gravity fed water system fed from a spring and into a 1000 gallon holding tank about a 100 feet elevated from my house, pressure an sediment are my two problems... I have installed a 50 gallon drum with a in and out up high and a clean out valve at the bottom before my holding tank to try and relieve the sediment problem..
Now my question is: installing another holding tank with a pump, bladder, filters and a uv system.. Is that something I should do to help my issues?
Oh yes, 1" line from the spring to the tank.
1" line from the tank to a valve and 3/4 to the house about 30 feet away.

Water pressure equates to about 0.43#/foot of elevation, which would put your pressure at about 43-pounds if your measurements are accurate. There's more than one way to increase the pressure. One would treat it like the supply was a well, and install a pump and a bladder storage tank, or maybe a cycle stop valve and a pump with a smaller bladder storage tank. As to sediment, that's another issue entirely, but consider that sand would be detrimental to the life of a pump's impellers and seals.

I wonder how you address freezing. Guess you have that licked.

Anyway, you might try making a diagram of what you are considering.

I think UV needs sediment free water. Chlorine systems do not, and they can treat some other conditions too. Usually such a system for a home would include a backwashing activated coconut shell carbon filter. That removes chlorine and sediment. For just sediment, there are other backwashing filters. Those are self cleaning.

Submersible pumps are quieter and more efficient than jet pumps. They never need priming. They can be horizontal.

People speak well of Lakos Twist II clean filters. http://www.twistiiclean.com/
