Governor of Michigan Rick Snyder announced a plan to deal with the city of Flint's lead issues. After much study, they determined that replacing the infrastructure would cost too much and delays would take too big a toll on those living there. Rick Snyder decided to think big and move in a big way. Since many of the homes are old, and the jobs are few in the affected area, it was decided to move those living there to South Carolina, where Boeing is looking for workers for their factories. That would give them a fresh start, away from the water problems and scarce employment of Flint.
Once the land has been vacated and the people moved, the houses can be cleared. Governor Snyder envisions a large park, with walking paths, baseball fields, and open area that can be replanted to forest. He believes that homes near the park will benefit.
